Overview:

Reflection is a first person action puzzle game where players plays as 

Jaslyn, an award winning journalist as she investigates the strange occurrences happening at a missing scientist's mansion. 

Jaslyn would receive a tip that would lead her to an abandoned mansion where she will face a variety of challenges and obstacles left behind by the scientist. 

Along the way, Jaslyn would learn more about what the scientist is working on and the world behind the mirrors as well as the hidden secret left in the scientist labs in the world behind the mirror.

Levels:

For this project, I was in charge on the level design for the first three levels. I was in charge of making sure that the level progression is smooth throughout the game and the the challenges and obstacles faced by the player are not too hard at the start and would get harder as the game progresses.

Above are the final top down images of the levels in the game. Each level has its own set of challenges and obstacles and each level are represent by a different part of the mansion and the scientist lab.

Gameplay:

Reflection offers a variety of mechanics that will be taught and featured throughout the game. Each mechanics offer a unique way in which player can use to overcome puzzles.

Rotating the mirror

 Rotating the mirror will rotate the world that on the the mirror as well, providing the players with four different orientation to tackle any challenge and obstacles that lies ahead. 

Scaling the mirror

Scaling the mirror will scale the world that one the mirror as well. Providing the player with the options to either scale the world bigger or scale the world smaller to help them get out of tight spots.

Amplifier

The amplifier is a device that will help support the rotating mirror. While normally when the world is rotated, the objects are not affected by gravity, the amplifier will enable the object to be affected by gravity.
